Special Power Of Attorney (الوكالة الخاصة)

With a Special Power of Attorney, the applicant gives someone the power to act on his/her behalf, in order to perform a specific task inside Palestine.

Various special power of attorney templates that can be used/or edited as needed:

Any Power of Attorney containing the selling of a property or land can only be done in person at the Palestinian General Delegation in Ottawa.

1- Special Power of Attorney to Sell a Land    وكالة خاصة لبيع قطعة أرض/ عقار – حصص شخصية

2- Special Power of Attorney to Sell a Land (from Inheritance)  وكالة خاصة لبيع قطعة أرض/ عقار – حصص ارثية

3- Special Power of Attorney for a Bank  وكلة خاصة بنكية

4- Special Power of Attorney to Transfer your Inheritance to another inheritor وكالة خاصة بالتخارج
5- Special Power of Attorney for search and investigation وكالة خاصة بالبحث والتحري

6- Special Power of Attorney for passport renewal وكالة خاصة لتجديد جواز سفر

7- Special Power of Attorney for marriage وكالة خاصة للزواج

8- Special Power of Attorney for divorce وكالة خاصة للطلاق

Requirements:

The person who intends to give a Special Power of Attorney has to provide the following documents:

1- Filled Form (Available templates below), typed, not handwritten.
2- Your Valid Palestinian Passport or Palestinian Identity Card. (If using on the application).
3- Your status in Canada or a Valid Canadian Identification (i.e.: PR Card, Canadian passport/citizenship, Refugee status ).
4- Fees: 

- 80 CAD for special power of attorney that does not include the sell of real estate (Lands, Houses, Apartments, etc.)

- 200 CAD for power of attorney that includes the sell of real estate (Lands, Houses, Apartments, etc.) 

*10 CAD will be added for every additional signee. 

*Fees are collected in the form of a money order payable to the Palestinian General Delegation.
5- Copy of the ID of the authorized person.
6- A prepaid registered return envelope (if submitted by mail).

7- Special Power of Attorney for passport renewal must have a passport size photo attached.

Note : For POA’s that include selling of a property or land you will need to provide Land registration (Original and issued no more than one months prior to submitting the application) in addition to Proof of inheritance if the property is not registered under your name.
* Name on Land registration has to match ID otherwise a court order authenticated by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs confirming applicant’s identity is required.

The application can be submitted:

• In person at the Palestinian General Delegation in Ottawa by scheduling an appointment by phone or email.
• By mail: first, Documents must be signed and notarized by notary public (virtual notarization via zoom or similar video calling softwares is not accepted, notary public must attest to the signature in persone), then mail the documents to “Palestinian General delegation”. A prepaid registered return envelope must be included with the documents.

Note:

• You are requested to include proof for any information mentioned in the body of POA, such as Land registry, Hasr Erth, death certificates…etc.
• The land/property owner’s name on Land registration must match with the ID used for the applicant.
